Black Elevation logo

Black Elevation, the core program of our organization, serves as a means for overall growth and personal understanding. This not only applies to each student individually, but also to how we function as a brotherhood. Here, our students take part in intense dialogue involving everything from mental and social wellness to black studies and metaphysics. Our vision for this program is that our students will gain a deeper self-awareness of who they are and who they can become, through the various skills and cognitive devices they will need for personal and unified success.

As the foundation of our brotherhood/sisterhood, BE.™ functions as the glue that bonds all BMIT brothers and sisters together, young and old. This lifelong bond will serve as a stepping stone for all that come after. Our mission is to cultivate a community of strong-minded, principled, and affluent men and women that will feel a sense of duty to pass on the wisdom, knowledge, and opportunity once afforded to them, to fellow brothers and sisters that come after.

*The ideology of Black Elevation also serves as the core for all other programs under the BMIT banner.

Circle of discussion
Group Discussion

Group discussion with our youth is a powerful way to build community, encourage self-expression, and address critical topics in a supportive environment. We aim to implement a youth-centered approach which empowers them to lead where possible, aiding in the validation of their own voices and perspectives.

Team Building

Our team-building activities are both empowering and fun, fostering trust, collaboration, leadership, and a strong sense of community. When culturally affirming and youth-centered, these experiences help build pride in identity and group cohesion.

Mentorship

Why Mentorship Matters to us

  • Representation: Seeing mentors who reflect their identity helps youth envision broader possibilities for themselves.
  • Support: Many Black youth navigate systemic barriers—mentors can provide emotional, academic, and career guidance.
  • Empowerment: Mentorship affirms identity and builds confidence, resilience, and purpose.
  • Networks: Mentors can connect youth to opportunities, internships, and professional communities.
